Event Description
Please join us to honor and show support to the family of our fallen native son Spec. Hand by lining the road to the cemetary with American flags off Highway 119 near the National Memorial Cemetery in Montevallo on Monday August 2, 2010. It will be hot so bring water, chair and an American Flag.
UPDATE:The Police will be closing the roads 20 minutes before the funeral procession passes through so you need to be in place by 1:00 - 1:30.
Directions: Going toward Montevallo just past American Village (If you are coming from Alabaster you will see cars on the side of the road)

Thanks for that. I do appreciate the notice of the Event.
I don't like to miss these. I wish more would attend.
Surely there are more retired or "stay at home" folks who would like to Honor our fallen Heroes.
Thank god for the Motorcycle squads!

Sorry for the incorrect time - I was told on Friday the time that we posted then yesterday someone involved with the family called a radio station and said that the funeral was going to run past 1:00 and that the processional would be later. Not much I could do at that time, sorry for the confusion.

Turn out was disappointing, but I was there.
There seemed to be much fewer police cars also.
I hope it was just the heat. I think the error is arrival time (previously quoted as 11:30 to 11:45 may have turned some away. When I got back it had changed to 1:00 to 1:30. The procession went thru at about 1:15 to 1:25.
I waited from 11:45 and was displeased at the misquote on time.
