Correction on Forever Wild

The land is not leased. It is bought. One of my sources was incorrect and naturally, that's the one I went by. I don't know how to attach emoticons, but if I did, there would be a sad face here.  I was scanning things and in a hurry and didn't pick up on it. I apologize for the misstatement.

Thanks, Carol for sharing your findings! Thanks, also, to all of our team members with our voter registration & absentee ballot request effort! At the current moment, our count is at 738 for this election cycle! What a phenomenol job all are doing! Please recruit others to join our team here, as well as our stand alone website - www.gottpv.com on which we have members across the nation. Contact me if you'd like to join in on this effort. Training & materials are provided to members. Although fraud is not as big an issue in our state, it is still an issue & has even made the national news (think Uniontown). After the election, we'll again push more participation in True The Vote to clean our voter rolls. Freedom loving activists will always be needed. We must remain diligent forever...

I did some research on the following bill. My findings are below.  Carol Carmack

VOTE NO ON FOREVER WILD LAND TRUST NOV. 6

Senate Bill 471

Cost is $300 Million                                        

Paid out of oil and gas leases in the Gulf

Land is leased, not owned; reverts back to owner

Owner pays no taxes while land is leased on that property, which would be tax money we would have for bridge repair and roads

Owner retains mineral rights

They’ve already spent $160 million on leasing land

They have 222,000 acres already

They get $4 million a year without this new bill

Right now they have $24 million for perpetual care and $15 million for new leases

Land is taken out of production for the private sector

It’s a state version of a land grab

Puts environment before people

For an easy way to request an absentee ballot: go to www.alabamavotes.gov
to access an AB Request form: print off, fill out while remembering to check GENERAL ELECTION box, mail w/ 1 request per ballot, & in 5 - 7 days you should have an absentee ballot in the mail. Fast turn around time in Shelby Co. Mary Harris & her crew are doing fabulous job!
