The RCP poll summaries are usually pretty comprehensive.  However, my own go-to poll is Rasmussen.  I find they're more consistently accurate than any of the other polls, primarily because they go only for LIKELY voters -- the ones most motivated to go to the polls.  Just as in 2010, much of what happens this year will depend on that.  I also think Rasmussen's internals are very well done.

PAINT FL RED: Spent all day yesterday with some amazing people ready for us to "paint FL red."  We started with this concept almost a year ago after Zan and I went to the CNN-Tea Party Debate in Tampa and met with some of the leaders of the big Tea Party groups there and offered our help since AL is obviously Red.  AFP has come on board and Fred Solomon has started his Adopt-A-State program to go to some of the other states as well.  We need to GOTTPV, so sign up now and be trained some time in June (date to follow) to use the "newest technology" available to call potntial voters, and go door to door in FL right before the election.

DELGATION OF THE RAINY DAY PATRIOTS

"Painting Florida Red" has been a priority and mission of the Jasper/Walker County Tea Party for months now.  We are planning a trip to the Orlando area in mid summer to campaign for the Tea Party endorsed Senatorial candidate Connie Mack.  We must take back the Senate in Washington this year!!!  I invite any folks that would like to go with us to contact me at WalkerCountyTeaParty@gmail.com

As State Coordinator, I'm trying to find volunteers in as many counties in Alabama as possible.  Volunteers must search records in the county where they live (at least to begin with).  I'm hoping to reach people in the majority of counties, but it's a BIG job and I need a LOT of volunteers.

So far, I've been able to schedule speaking to tea party groups in five or six counties.  I have sent out around a dozen e-mails to tea party leaders and am waiting for responses.  Everyone I spoken to has been favorable to this project and willing to help, but the work won't begin until the database is ready.  In the meantime, volunteers must go through the orientation and the database research webinars.  When they sign up for the research webinar, they must send a one-time fee of $25 (via PayPal or credit card) and sign a Confidentiality Agreement and return by FAX,  or scanned then e-mailed.  Once that's done, you will receive a confirmation for the training and will be sent a link to attend the webinar you've selected.  You can take any of the classes offered (County Leaders will receive additional training exclusive to them) as many times as you want to take them.  I've taken the research webinar twice, just to refresh my memory on the individual screens we'll be using for the research.

I'm really excited about what we will be able to accomplish through this research.  For people who like to do "detective work", this is just what they're looking for.  We are doing something important, to ensure that the political process in Alabama will be "free and fair" in our 2012 elections - possibly the most important presidential election of our lifetime.

As far as I know, I don't think True the Vote is planning to send representatives to the states to do this training.  They are conducting the webinars to make it easy for people to attend the training without traveling anywhere.  They have been scheduling the training webinars in the afternoons and evenings, to accommodate different schedules.  If you want to see if they will come to Birmingham to provide training to your group, I can try to find out if they would do that, depending on how many people you think they would train and how many might be interested in the project.

I hope your group will have volunteers who will be willing to help.  Jefferson County is the largest populated county in Alabama - and it will take many volunteers to go through these records.  If you have any questions, let me know.  If November 17th is a good night for me to speak to your group (or groups), I'll arrange my schedule to be there.  Just tell me where and when.

Thanks, and I hope to hear from you,
Judy
