A friend of mine, Jerry Carter, wants to join, help with local meetings. He has a contact involved in the Jasper group. We need to set a meeting sometime and invite folks. Nigel, if you see this, give me a call. Thanks, DW

We lost our meeting place. Do you have any suggestions?
It costs a few dollars, but the PARA facilities are good and have some smaller rooms that you can get for $35, soem up to $50. I think we can pass the hat and come up with that. ALSO, the annex building across from the courthouse has a meeting room that the GOP uses and I don't think it costs anything if you can set that up. I'll have to think about places we could meet & eat!
Thanks for the suggestions. Money is an issue for us. We are working on securing a private room at a local restaurant or as an alternative use the TDOT. Tentatively, we are going to schedule a meeting for August 12th. We have received interest from Independents and moderate Democrats who agree with the RDP mission and wish to participate in our non-partisan group.

We hope to secure a location by Monday and will send an e-mail out on Tuesday.
Hi Don!

I'm already in the process of setting up a meeting for the Tuscaloosa Delegation for the Second Thursday in August at 7:00pm, I just need to nail down the venue and we'll be set to invite folks out. I'm considering a local restaurant in the downtown area who has hosted events for the Chamber and the YPt that provides a good sized room, a nice atmosphere and good food, which I think would be a plus for a meeting like this. Having a restaurateur involved could help to provide a greater value to members, as well as serve as an excellent ice breaker and opportunity for our members to connect, and is a great way to support local business.

I'll try to give you a holler during the next couple of days, maybe at the Commissioners meeting if I can manage to make a hole in my already crowded schedule next week. Either way, I'm looking forward to catching up with you sometime soon.

Thanks again,

Nigel
