Promoters of the Birmingham Gun Show deny pro-2nd amendment organizations booth space.

Unfortunately the organizers of the Birmingham Gun Show have denied booth space to the Campaign for Liberty in Alabama.

There was a Ron Paul booth 3 years ago at the "Birmingham Gun Show" and we had a video of that event promoting the upcoming show on our website.  Apparently their policy changed and while we respect their decision to run their show as they see fit, we were surprised by their decision nonetheless.

According to Helen Bean, event organizer, "I'm sorry but we don't accept this type of exhibit......There have been a number of problems associated with this type of display so we have just decided to not rent to them."

This raises questions abouth whether organizations like the Constitution Party and others will also not be able to have booth space like they've had in the past.

Note: As you may recall, the NRA was willing to go along with the Obama administration on the DISCLOSE Act as long as they were exempted from its requirements.  The Campaign for Liberty called out the NRA and its willingness to sacrifice their member's rights for their own gain. The organizers of the event claim to be strong NRA supporters on their webpage.

UPDATE: 

The Constitution Party of Alabama (www.cpalabama.org) has also been denied a booth space at this show. Several of you may know that they have participated in this show for over two years and without warning the plug was yanked out from underneath them.

According to Joshua Cassity, CP Chairman, "The last show was participated in was the spring 2010 show and our booth was set up next to Dr. Stan Cooke display.....I also had numerous conversations with interested parties about my refusal to support the NRA and my decision to support Larry Pratt and the GOA. I believe this decision is more political than the reason she set out in her email reply.
