I was a Herman Cain supporter before Herman ever announced his intent to seek the Republican nomination for POTUS. Like many of you, it’s disappointing seeing him drop out of the race but I don’t believe Herman’s really gone, no more than Sarah is gone. While they aren’t part of the primary and will not be elected POTUS in 2012, their influence on this nation may be far greater than anyone can ever know. It was Sarah that told us “you don’t need a leader, all of you are leading this movement” and she was right. Since the Tea party began, the left has frantically been searching for the leader so they could begin their character assignation and attack the movement through its leaders but “oh damn” they can’t find one. They have read Saul Alinsky backward and forward all to no avail, their usual methods just don’t work.
You may have noticed that Herman based his campaign on his 999 plan and everyone in the media and the Republican Party criticized it, even poking fun at something so ridiculous. Today, however, I’m hearing speculation from the media that Herman may have started a debate with 999, that lives on. A debate over real fundamental change in our tax code that could change the entire face of politics in America forever. Our tax code is the poster child for corruption, it is the source of the power that Washington wields over our heads, their power to redistribute wealth, pick winners and losers, reward their friends and punish their enemies and fill their campaign chest with money from our pockets. We must lay waste to this evil that threatens our republic and Herman has gotten us talking about doing just that. Yea Herman!
When I start looking at how this primary is unfolding, I realize that Herman and Sarah aren’t alone in making contributions to the debate. Newt’s plan on immigration, while possibility flawed, has the basis for a possible real solution. Fix the border, start a dialog about the 12 – 14 million illegal’s already here, maybe we can do something short of deportation in certain circumstances but that something will never lead to citizenship. Rick Perry and Michele Bachman have broached the subject of closing entire Executive Departments and returning that power to the states and others are making many more bold statements of change. All of this is the force behind the evolution of a new Republican Party with a new platform, a platform directed toward returning America to the Constitution and those principles that created the greatest nation the world has ever seen!
Keep the faith my friends, we have much to do.
Jim
