The True Implications Of Fast & Furious

In the history of American law enforcement, many times local, state and Federal law enforcement agencies have allowed the transport of contraband to occur, under constant surveillance, so it could be traced to its final destination. This approach is designed to round up the maximum number of criminals connected to a crime and has proven successful. In the case of Fast & Furious, the plan seems to have failed in a catastrophic way resulting in the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry as well as many innocent Mexican civilians caught in the Mexican drug war crossfire. So what was different about F&F that resulted in so many deaths? The answer to that question may send chills up the spine of all Constitution loving Americans because it appears that F&F wasn’t a criminal sting, it was a planned attack on our Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights, by our own Department of Justice and I believe many other high ranking officials within the United States Government!

Our Framers guaranteed in the Second  Amendment, of the Bill of Rights, that; “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”.  Jefferson looked upon an armed people as the greatest deterrent to a government becoming tyrannical.  In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. In them the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes. Unfortunately, none of this has had any effect on those on the left that wish to disarm Americans. In May of 2010, Mexican President Felipe Calderon made the accusation that guns purchased in American gun stores were fueling violence in Mexico, a sentiment echoed by both President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton. The problem is that there has been no evidence to support those accusations. Operation Gunrunner (aka Fast & Furious), began in 2006 and was successful in tracking and prosecuting illegal gun purchases destined for other countries. In 2009, agents were told to let some of these guns cross the border into Mexico, thereby losing the ATF’s ability to track them. This alarmed the ATF agents on the ground but they were told to let the guns go and keep quiet, even though the Mexican authorities weren’t told what was going on. These guns began turning up at the scenes of murders in Mexico, seemingly proving the accusations by the administration and other anti gun groups.  On 12/14/2010, Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was shot and killed near Rio Rico, Arizona, while attempting to apprehend a group of armed subjects. He was killed by an AK47 linked to F&F and this incident resulted in some of the ATF agents “blowing the whistle” on the operation. Congressman Darrell Issa and Senator Chuck Grassley have been holding hearings into F&F but the DOJ (ATF is a DOJ department) has given misleading testimony and has been reluctant to cooperate with the investigation to the point, one Congressman has threatened AG Eric Holder with impeachment. The Obama Administration seems to be trying to cover its tracks and things are getting increasingly strained. By the way, none of the gun stores that sold these guns  violated the law, they reported the purchase attempts to ATF, as they were supposed to  and were told to sell the guns anyway, even though many were reluctant to do so.

It is my personal opinion that many persons, high up in the Obama administration, were trying to manufacture “proof” of the accusations that American guns were fueling the violence in Mexico. I believe they wanted to use this “lie” to try to turn public opinion against the Second Amendment as they have lost the argument in the arena of public opinion.  It is also my opinion that these same people desire to disarm America just as they have Great Britain and Australia because they fear an armed people. The Federal Oath of Office, says in part I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same”  Each of you must decide, for yourselves,  if you believe that they have broken this Oath they gave before God Almighty. It is with great sadness that I must say I believe they did violate that Oath and this is the darkest period of American history I have ever seen.
