Verified - Six Flags Theme Parks To Hold "Muslim Day" on 9/12

When a Six Flags roller coaster flies through the air, you expect cheers and screaming from spectators and riders. What you usually don’t expect is to hear the vibrant sound of Allahu Akbar, God is the Greatest, as shaky passengers complete their ride.

But that’s exactly what you'll get at Muslim Family Day at Six Flags.

On September 12, many Six Flags theme parks will hosts the annual I.C.N.A. Muslim Family. This event offers "fun for the entire family and will also offer halal food stalls."

The chosen date of the event bothers many Americans as they perceive it as insensitive to the events of September 11, 2001.

The original event does pre-date 9-11 and as one muslim blogger states "The date happens to be around 9/11 but anyone with half a brain can understand that it is not to exploit 9/11. It revolves around the end of Ramadan (which is at different every year since the Islamic Calendar is based off the lunar calendar) so it is on a different date every year."

A blogger with a different view writes "The problem is not that Six Flags is hosting these events for Muslims (they even hold a “Home School Day” and “Catholic Family Day” at different points). Rather, it is the fact that they’re holding one of these “Muslim Family Days” on the day after the largest terrorist attack on American soil which is a bit disturbing to say the least."

When asked about the event, a Six Flag's representative from Georgia responded by saying "A variety of organizations, non-profits, private companies, religious groups, celebrities, etc., rent our park for private events; no different than renting a ballroom at a hotel. We also have the Catholic Family Days, Christian Youth and A.M.E Family days that includes the Christian concerts, picnics, and fellowship."

What happened to the link to the original article at the bottom? It's gone now and it flips over to another blog but on Campaign For Liberty. There is not link to the original article either.
